Gigabit access switches providing all-GE electrical ports

The CloudEngine S5731-S series offers a range of standard gigabit access switches, with all-GE electrical/optical ports and fixed 10 GE uplink ports. Built on Huawei’s unified Versatile Routing Platform (VRP), CloudEngine S5731-S switches provide enhanced Layer 3 features, simplified Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Intelligent Stack (iStack) technology — allowing multiple stacking-capable switches to function as a single logical switch — flexible Ethernet networking, and mature Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) features. The series is widely used in a range of scenarios, including enterprise campus access and aggregation, as well as data center access.

PoE Power Supply

Perpetual PoE: When a PoE switch is rebooted after the software version is upgraded, the power supply to PDs is not interrupted. This capability ensures that PDs are not powered off during the switch reboot.

Fast PoE: PoE switches can supply power to PDs within 10s after they are powered on. This is different from common switches that generally take 1 to 3 minutes to start to supply power to PDs. When a PoE switch reboots due to a power failure, the PoE switch continues to supply power to the PDs immediately after being powered on without waiting until it finishes reboot. This greatly shortens the power failure time of PDs.
