Multi-Tenant Units (MTUs) such as offices and campuses, and Multiple Dwelling Units (MDUs) such as hotels and apartments are the ideal environments for Allied Telesis MMC6000 Media Converter. Legacy wiring, such as Coax or phone grade RJ-11, can be used to provide broadband access to Internet services, including video streaming, gaming and e-mail.

There is no need to rewire premises with expensive cabling to provide broadband Ethernet services.

Extended Ethernet Operation

Used in pairs, Allied Telesis MMC6000 Series media converters provide up to 150Mbps (MMC6005) or 300Mbps (MMC6006) total bandwidth over legacy wiring at distances up to 3km. Standard Ethernet operation is preserved end-to-end, retaining VLAN tags and Ethernet MAC information across the link, while higher layer protocols are passed transparently.
